Selecting IEM Pro¶
The central identification of the IEM Pro is the instance ID. The instance ID is not only part of the configuration itself, but is also used in all CLI interactions to select the correct instance. Therefore, when more than one instance is present in the cluster, almost all commands expect an instance ID as an argument. A partial instance ID is accepted if it uniquely identifies the instance. (For example, if there are instances with IDs 917fd452bb6740938812a181cd7d4a70 and 9abba7ae07b040a7b998a7295104562b are present it is sufficient to use 91 to select the first instance.)
In all cases, a filename that points to a configuration file is also accepted. Whenever an instance ID is required as input by a subcommand, either an instance ID itself or the onboarding file from the IE Hub is acceptable.
Note When an onboarding file is specified, it is always considered one of the input sources for the configuration in any of the commands.
